The Nigerian Insider News reported earlier that Immigration rescues baby and nine minors in Katsina, and the suspects were handed over to the police for further investigations.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Katsina State command intercepted the women suspected to be human traffickers and rescued 10 victims on their way to Europe through the Nigeria-Niger border.

The suspects, Deborah Adewunmi and Moriliya Ibrahim both from Ogun State, were apprehended without passports and other travel documents.

The Comptroller of NIS in the state, Ajisafe Olusola, in a statement, yesterday, said the rescued victims were minors and their ages ranged from 9 months to 11 years and that all of them were also from Ogun State.

According to him, an intelligence report by the command’s provost led to the arrest, noting that “they started their journey from Lagos to Kano and Katsina with the mission to travel to Libya through Niger Republic without travel documents.

“It has been established that Mrs Deborah Adewunmi and Moriliya Ibrahim, accompanied by the nine minors and one man confessed that they were going to meet Deborah’s husband (Mustapha Ibrahim) who is residing in Agadez, Niger Republic to facilitate their journey to Libya.
