Senators emerged from a meeting Tuesday with Central Intelligence Agency Director Gina Haspel saying they had no doubt that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince was responsible for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Lawmakers had demanded the briefing from Haspel after she didn’t appear last week, as some had requested, at an earlier closed-door meeting with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

Senators from both parties have grown increasingly frustrated that President Trump has dismissed U.S. intelligence conclusions that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the early October killing of Khashoggi by Saudi agents in the country’s consulate in Istanbul.

“I have zero question in my mind that the crown prince directed the murder and was kept apprised of the situation all the way through,” Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee, told reporters after the briefing with Haspel.
