Two passengers were on Friday confirmed dead in multiple auto accidents involving four vehicles in the Odo Iya Alaro area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that tragedy struck when an articulated truck lost control at about 2:15am and rammed into a Toyota Camry with registration number, ABC-261AJ (Abuja), a tipper conveying 30 tons of sharp sand, and two commercial buses on the bridge linking Maryland and Ojota.
City Round learnt that one of the commercial buses was returning from Mile 12 where six of the passengers went to buy some goods.
The body of one of the dead was said to have been taken to a morgue by the state environmental health monitoring unit, while the remains of the second victim identified as Blessing, were taken away by her family members.
The South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, said several persons were also injured in the accident.
Farinloye added, “Unfortunately, two adults (one female and one male) were confirmed dead at the scene. The male adult was handed over to SEHMU at the scene while the corpse of the female was taken by her immediate family. Several persons were also injured and taken to nearby hospitals by FRSC ambulance.”
