The trainings you were given in camp will be useful in times of challenges – Megwa

NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, overseeing NYSC Lagos State, Mr Eddy Megwa has said the trainings given to corps members are meant to prepare them to rise above challenges whenever they come.

Mr Megwa said this while debriefing corps members of the 2022 batch ‘A’ Stream II this evening.
He said the trainings though tough and discomforting, were deliberately designed to arm the corps members with the experience and mental strength which will be useful in the course of the service year.

While urging the corps members to be eager for success, the Director stressed the need for them to be hardworking at all times. He hinted that good things of life gravitates towards success.

Mr Megwa also encouraged the corps members to be communicative especially with their employers during the course of the service year. He said good communication avoids problems and rifts which may bring about unsuccessful service year.

Concerning journeys during the service year, he advised the corps members to avoid unnecessary journeys in the cause of the service year, emphasizing that many parents have lost their lives as a result of losing their children. He advised that corps members should avoid these catastrophic situations by simply not engaging in unimportant travels.

While speaking on the national challenges of unemployment, Mr Megwa told the corps members to take the Skill Acquisition training of the NYSC serious so as to be able to be independent if they can’t find jobs after the service year.

The debriefing exercise of the NYSC is aimed to jolt corps members to the reality of life during Service year and arm them with useful information that will help them navigate through service.

Meanwhile, as a way of motivating the officials of the course, during the debriefing, some Officials and Casual workers were acknowledged for their selfless service delivery.
