Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps have reportedly arrested a Nigerian publisher Mary Ikoku for making use of Google maps for direction while driving in Abuja.

The publisher shared her experience on her Facebook page. The publisher narrated how her car was impounded and her license was seized. She said that she was suddenly stopped by the officers, who asked her to show them her phone when she did they said she was arrested for using Google Maps.

Ikoku said she was forced to drive to their office where her car was taken away. She said she was asked to pay N4,000 remita for her offense.

According to her, she would later be taken to the mental hospital for examination for using GPS while driving. The lady advised people to leave the country if they have the opportunity to live in a saner environment. P
