The publisher of the Nigerian online news site, Peoples Gazette, Mr. Samuel Ogundipe has denied being harassed by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Security (DSS).

An online news medium, Newsdiary had reported during the weekend that Mr. Ogundipe ‘is now on the run after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) launched an investigation into his alleged attempt to blackmail the chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, into paying him $300,000.’

When contacted by News.band on the phone on Monday, the Peoples Gazette publisher dismissed the news as fake news.

He said he is safe, free, hale and hearty and not running away from anyone at any time.

Another source told News.band that it is a fake news planted by Premium Times for leaving them and reporting against their clients.

“When did EFCC and DSS start doing joint operations?” the source asked
