NIGERIAN IN JAPAN SETS UP SCHOLARSHIP TO HONOUR JAPANESE PHILANTHROPIST

Yumi Kumada was born in Taichung City in Taiwan in 1950. She is married to Masayuki Kumada, a renowned Japanese Physicist. She worked with Itochu, one of the leading trading companies in Japan, as a translator.

She is regarded by many as the Dorcas or Tabitha of our time. Her love for God and humanity is second to none.

She has assisted a lot of African students in many different ways. Whenever people around her are in one need or the other, she works so hard to put smile on their faces, sometimes to her great discomfort.
Because of her service to God, to humanity, and to the African community in Tsukuba City, Japan, the Ikenna Nweke Foundation is glad to announce a scholarship to honor and celebrate her.
The Yumi Kumada Scholarship will be awarded to 5 students in senior high school in Nigeria every year. It will take off in February, 2021.
