Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has opened up on the differences between Frank Lampard and Maurizio Sarri.
The Croatia international impressed for the Blues in the 3-2 win over Norwich on Saturday.
And Kovacic has admitted to feeling more settled at Stamford Bridge after making his loan move from Real Madrid permanent.
The 25-year-old also feels like he has more freedom under Lampard and can attack more.
“A good connection with the coach and all the team.
“I am a Chelsea player now so I feel better about that.
“Last year was only a loan. I feel better and more confident than last year.
“I am missing some part of my game and I can improve and get better, but I think it will come for sure.”
Chelsea boss Lampard has also praised Mason Mount after he scored in the win against Norwich.
“I don’t want to say he’s surprised me with the way he’s taking to the Premier League because I have real belief in him,” said Lampard.
“Mason has a fantastic character and that’s part of his overall package, plus he has the quality on the ball.
“Intelligent players who are hungry and have that talent and are fantastic to work with, and Mason is exactly that.
“He’s impressed me even more from pre-season and I believe he can absolutely go to the top if he continues to work hard.”
Lampard has also opened up on the extent of the injury N’Golo Kante is currently struggling with.
He explained: “It’s a difficult one with N’Golo because he’s had four years of constant playing
“We knew he had that injury from the Europa League final last season, which affected his pre-season, and then he picked up an ankle injury last week.
“He’s trying and we are trying to get him through it, but the game yesterday just came too quickly and he was in too much pain.
“But again he is one to assess and we want him back in the team because he’s an important player.
“I think the international break will be great for him, to try and recover him.”
Chelsea return to action against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (3pm).
