Chelsea have Champions League qualification in their hands after earning a point against Valencia in the Mestalla on Wednesday night.
Frank Lampard’s side went a goal down after 40 minutes, but immediately got level before Tammy Abraham suffered an injury that required his substitution, with Michy Batshuayi coming on to replace him.
Christian Pulisic grabbed an early goal in the second half following a lengthy VAR delay, while Kepa was called into action from the penalty spot, saving Dani Parejo’s effort.
However, the Blues could not hold on for all three points, succumbing to what Frank Lampard called a “fluke” goal as Daniel Wass floated a cross over Kepa and in off the far post.
Chelsea do not have long to dwell on the result, with a London derby up against West Ham this weekend.
