FG to recruit in Army, Police, other paramilitary agencies in 2020
The Nigerian Federal Government has submitted a proposal to recruit 30,000 civil servants to National Assembly in 2020 budget.
The joint National Assembly Committee on Finance and National Planning on Thursday October 3 submitted its report on the 2020-2022 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to the Senate at plenary.
The Proposed 30,000 civil servants will gulp N172 billion in the 2020 budget. Presenting the report was the chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Adeola Olamilekan. He said the additional $2 on the oil price benchmark proposed by the Committee will be used to cater for the 30,000 civil servants proposed to be recruited in 2020. Federal government proposed $55 per barrel, but the Committee increase the proposal to $57 per barrel.
Adeola also said it reduced borrowings because of the expected revenue from the Nigerian Customs Service.
The report increased the proposed total estimated expenditure of the Federal Government from N10.002tn to N10,729.4tn.
