Black man beats race obstacle, gets PhD from Yale University.


A black man, with the name Charles D. Brown II, broke the race obstacle associated with his skin colour, and got his PhD in Physics from Yale University.

He said that since 1860’s, few black people have been awarded the doctoral degree from the institution’s physics department. Charles said his recent academic achievement makes him the 7th black man to receive the degree.

In a way that shows that there is still more to do, he said no woman has climbed that high.

He also said that the journey to get the degree has been of ups and downs.

Various black people making big marks on the international scene in different aspects of human endeavours.

Uzoma Asagwara, a Nigerian-Canadian, was elected into the country’s legislative seat for the New Democratic Party.

Her election was a historical mark in the country as she was the first qu*er black person to be elected in Manitoba.

Another person of colour who did well is Joel Kachi Benson, who won the The Lion Award for Best Story at the 2019 Venice Festival for his documentary on the Chibok school girls that were kidnapped by the Boko Haram insurgent group.

Bello Sambo Bello is another who got his doctoral degree in engineering at the age of 30, saying he had to always push himself hard to achieve the feat.
