Rev. Fr. Williams Kaura- Abba; Kafanchan gave an account on the incident.
His words: So while we worked and prayed for peaceful, transparent and credible elections in the state, we work up this morning with this appalling news of thugs who have been deployed to Southern Kaduna with the view of disrupting elections across the Southern Kaduna senatorial district.
More than 22 vehicles were intercepted with these trouble makers who were hired to carry out a specific order: disrupt the elections and cut down their numbers so that El Rufai and APC will have an easy ride back to government house.
God, always on our side, our ever vigilant youth and security forces swooped on them and apprehended them. As I write, they are cooling their heels at the police station in Zonkwa.
These buses were intercepted in Zonkwa and Madauchi and all the occupants expectedly are Hausa Fulani boys sent from Kaduna.
Yesterday night, a number of these thugs who were accommodated in various guest inns across the zone were apprehended and handed over to the police. Same yesterday evening, a number of these thugs were apprehended close to Kwagiri carrying guns. They too, were apprehended by the security forces and handed over to the appropriate authority.
While we thank God that these anti democratic forces have been apprehended, we are worried at the level of desperation El Rufai and the APC stalwarts are demonstrating in their quest to grab power at all cost.
For some of us, we really don’t care about who carries the day in the long run, but the mandate of the people must be protected and the winner must be a product of general consensus.
Our democracy is maturing and no one will bull doze his way to office ever again. For southern Kaduna citizens, I am ever proud of you any day any time. I am even prouder that I belong here. What cannot be debated is our resilience and steadfastness. By our votes both at the presidential and the gubernatorial, you have proven that you cannot be cowed and subjected to the whims and caprice of a tiny power drunk grabbers.
Even if El Rufai wins, and God will forbid it, he will know that we are a different specie of humans who are never intimidated. Whatever the outcome of this election, we will die standing with our pride and integrity in tact.
Thumps up to the security agents. You have done well. God bless Nigeria and surely, our prayers will never go unheeded.
Attached are some of the pictures of the buses and thugs apprehended earlier today.
