Airforce conducts counter-terrorism operation in Niger

The Nigerian Air Force has said it would carry out a counter-terrorism operation in Babban Naushi, along Minna-Zungeru Road in Niger State on Friday (today).

The air force noted that there would be movement of military aircraft, vehicles, equipment, personnel as well as firing of live ammunition during the period of the routine military exercise.

The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, stated in a release that there “will be restriction of vehicular movement during the period of the exercise along the aforementioned road.”

He said, “This is to inform the general public, especially residents of Pandogari, Zungeru and Minna areas of Niger State that the air force would conduct a simulation exercise on counter-terrorism, codenamed Exercise Babban Naushi along Minna-Zungeru Road on Friday, November 8.”

“Accordingly, there will be movement of military aircraft, vehicles, equipment, personnel as well as firing of live ammunition during the period of the routine military exercise.”

“Additionally, there will be restriction of vehicular movement during the period of the Exercise along aforementioned road. Members of the public are advised not to panic but go about their normal businesses as the Nigerian Air Force will endeavour to minimise disruptions to normal activities.”
