In a press released by the Alliance for Democracy Lagos via its state chairman Kola Ajayi, raised an alarm about compromising the LG elections in the state.
In the statement they said: The Alliance for Democracy hereby call on the Independent National Electoral Commission to caution and call all the Electoral Officers in the 20 LGAs in Lagos State to order
1. They should not compromise on the ongoing engagement of Adhoc staff members
2. They should shun inducements by officers and agents of the ruling party in Lagos State
3. They should remain impartial conductors of the elections as the people of Lagos and Alimosho federal constituency will not accept rigged or manipulated results
4A. The six council chairmen in Alimosho should be aware that the peoples of Lagos State have rejected their party; the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the finances of the councils will be forensically audited after the peoples government emerges; hence they should stop using council funds to fund the political activities of their party. Since they boast of many members they should democratise party funding via crowd sourcing.
4B. Any INEC official who compromise with any political party will be reported to the authorities and dealt with.
4B. The recent deployment of N6,000,000 jointly by the six council chairmen as “Christmas Gifts” to INEC officials in Alimosho federal constituency should not becloud the judgment and influence the decisions of INEC officers at this level. Take it: do the right thing. Do not allot Adhoc Staff members slots to their nominees. They added.
